Monthly Membership Meetings

You are most welcome to join us at our next monthly association gathering.  Unless otherwise noted, our meetings take place in the Parish Hall at The Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta Church located at 800 Columbia Road.

 

Our meetings are held at 7:00PM on the third Tuesday of each month, with the exception of the summer months of July and August during which no meetings are scheduled.

When you become a Member at this meeting, you will have the right to vote on resident-initiated items on the agenda at the next meeting.

 

Annual membership dues are only $5.00 or $10.00, at your discretion, and proof of residency within Association boundries will be needed to qualify your enrollment and membership. Please refer to Member-approved Association By-Laws for residency requirements. 

 

Your annual membership commences the month in which you pay your dues and is valid for twelve (12) months.  After the twelve (12) month period, your membership automatically expires. 

 

You are welcome to re-new your membership on or before the twelfth (12th) month to ensure you have no interruption in your voting rights.

February Monthly Membership Meeting:

 

The Strand hosts Dorchester Short Film Festival

The historic Strand Theatre will host an encore Dorchester Short Film Festival, an event produced by Asbury Shorts USA.  The two-hour event, which will begin at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, 30th April 2020, will feature some of the world’s top award-winning short films selected from a variety of US and international festivals.

 

Re-development of 45 Dorset Street

Adam Burns of Burns Realty will present his proposal for 45 Dorset Street. This  includes demolishing the existing Cape Cod-style brick building and constructing a 9 unit, 4 storey building with 11 parking spots.

 

Update on Willow Court and Baker Court re-development plans

Proposal would bring an additional 239 housing units, including rental and condos, and more retail space to South Bay at Willow Court and Baker Court.

 

Update on Bayside re-development plan 

Catherine O'Neil and Kevin Galvin from Accordia Partners will be at our meeting to give an update on their Bayside re-development proposal.

 

Cannabis testing services proposal

Andrew McLeod will be at the meeting to represent Assured Testing Laboratory whose mission is to provide testing services for cannabis products. Assured Testing Laboratory seeks to open a facilty in Freeport Street in Dorchester.

We thank our neighbors and friends who generously donated their time, energy, and equipment to take down Christmas Wreaths on 84 light posts on the Polish Triangle
stretch of Dorchester Avenue, Boston Street from Columbia Road to Washburn Street and the Sharon’s Park stretch of Mount Vernon St.

 

A big “thank you” goes to our neighbors and friends Priscilla, Alp, Travis, Christine, Millie, Adam, Jen and Mike.
