Monthly Membership Meetings

You are most welcome to join us at our next monthly association gathering.  Our meetings take place in the Parish Hall at The Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta Church located at 800 Columbia Road.

 

Our meetings are held at 7:00PM on the third Tuesday of each month, with the exception of the summer months of July and August during which no meetings are scheduled.

7:00PM - 8:30PM (registration from 6:30 PM)

 

When you become a member at this meeting, you will have the right to vote on resident-initiated items on the agenda at the next meeting.

 

Annual membership dues are only $5.00 or $10.00, at your discretion, and proof of residency within Association boundries will be needed to qualify your enrollment and membership. Please refer to member-approved Association By-Laws for residency requirements. 

 

Your annual membership commences the month in which you pay your dues and is valid for twelve (12) months.  After the twelve (12) month period, your membership automatically expires. 

 

You are welcome to re-new your membership on or before the twelfth (12th) month to ensure you have no interruption in your voting rights.

Neighborhood Clean-up Day

Polish Triangle Pocket Park Fall Clean-up Day

Sharon’s Park (Mount Vernon Street at Buttonwood Street)

 

Concentration areas include Sharon’s Park, Washburn Street Green (Paul’s Triangle), and Edward Everett Square in collaboration with the Dorchester North Neighborhood Association.

Autumn Service Day

The Martin Richard Foundation will hold their Autumn Service Day on Sunday, 21st October from 11:00AM -2:00PM at IBEW Local 103, 256 Freeport Street.

 

As part of the Foundation's commitment to service, Autumn Service Day will bring volunteers together for projects that will support the homeless, children in need of care and resources, area students, and more.

Dorchester Short Film Festival

Dorchester’s historic Strand Theatre will host an inaugural Dorchester Short Film Festival, an event produced by Asbury Shorts USA. The two-hour event, which will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, 25th October, will feature some of the world’s top award-winning short films selected from a variety of US and international festivals.

 

Boston Collegiate Charter School construction update

Boston Collegiate Charter School representatives will be present to give the  Association an update on the construction of the school’s new building wing facing Boston Street. They will also address all other concerns our members may have.

 

Proposal for 18 Mount Vernon Street

The Volunteers of America are seeking our support for their proposal to enclose the second and third storeys of their back porch in order to create more office space.

 

This is a Membership voting item.

 

Mass Motors Expansion Proposal

Paul Frederico, the owner of Mass Motors on Boston Street, is seeking Membership support for his proposal to add one office and one service bay.

 

This will be a Membership voting item.

 

Projects under review by the zoning committee

Next zoning meeting is Wednesday, 14th November at 6:30 p.m. at the Carpenter Center, 750 Dorchester Avenue.
